Minidisc is an opinionated iPhone music player that streams the music from your own server. It uses the Subsonic and OpenSubsonic API, so it works with Navidrome and other compatible servers, and gives you an experience close to Apple Music, without accounts, subscriptions, or tracking.

Any server that implements the Subsonic or OpenSubsonic API. Navidrome is the recommended server and the one Minidisc is tested against most. If your server has the Subsonic API but a feature doesn't work, open an issue.

On first launch, Minidisc asks for your server address, username, and password. Enter them and tap Connect. If your server is behind a reverse proxy that needs custom headers, open Advanced and add them there.

Download the .ipa from the Releases page and install it with AltStore, Sideloadly, or another sideload tool, which signs the app with your Apple ID. You can also build from source in Xcode 26, Swift Package Manager fetches the one dependency automatically.

Yes. Download albums, playlists, or single tracks and play them without a connection. Downloads are stored on your device and appear in your library.

Minidisc streams lossless by default. In Settings you can choose a lighter format per network, so you can keep lossless on Wi-Fi and save data on cellular.

Yes. Playback continues in the background with full controls and artwork on the lock screen and in Control Center, and you can send audio to any AirPlay device.

Wrapped gives you a summary of your year of listening: your top artists, albums, and most-played tracks.

Both are optional and off by default. ListenBrainz scrobbles your plays and fetches recommendations using the token you provide. AudioMuse-AI builds weekly mood playlists from the sound of your music via the instance you configure.

With Lidarr connected, you can add artists, monitor and search for missing albums, pick releases with interactive search, and follow the download queue with manual import, all from the app.

Double-check the server address (including http:// or https:// and the port), your username, and password. If your server is behind a reverse proxy, make sure any required custom headers are added under Advanced.

Some Subsonic servers implement only part of the API. Navidrome is the most complete and recommended option. If something is broken, please open an issue with details about your server.

Favorites sync with your server, so make sure the App can reach it. Stars you set offline sync the next time Minidisc connects to your server.
