Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Minidisc ("the App") handles your information. The short version: Minidisc does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to us or to any third party we control. There is no "us" in the middle, the App talks directly to the server you configure.

1. Information we do not collect

Minidisc has no user accounts and no servers of our own. The App does not collect, store, or transmit your personal information, usage data, analytics, or advertising identifiers to us or to any third party. There is no tracking of any kind.

2. Your server and your credentials

Minidisc connects to a music server that you provide (for example Navidrome or another Subsonic/OpenSubsonic server). All music streaming, library data, and search requests go directly between your device and that server. Your server address, username, and password are stored only in the iOS Keychain on your device, and are used solely to authenticate with your server.

3. Data stored on your device

App data such as your downloaded tracks, favorites, playback position, and settings is stored locally on your device using SwiftData and the file system. Downloaded music is kept on your device so it can play offline. This data is not sent to us.

4. Custom HTTP headers

If your server sits behind a reverse proxy (for example Cloudflare Access or Authelia), you may add custom HTTP headers. These headers are stored securely on your device and are sent only to your own server to authenticate your requests.

5. Optional third-party integrations

Minidisc includes optional integrations that are off by default. When you choose to enable one and provide its details, Minidisc communicates directly with the service you configured, according to your settings:

• ListenBrainz, when enabled, your plays are scrobbled to your ListenBrainz account using the token you provide, and recommendations are fetched from ListenBrainz.
• AudioMuse-AI, when enabled, Minidisc talks to the AudioMuse-AI instance you configure to build mood playlists from your library.
• Lidarr, when enabled, Minidisc talks to your Lidarr instance using the URL and API key you provide to manage your collection.

These services are operated by you or by third parties, and your use of them is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Minidisc never sends this data to us.

6. Data provided by the App Store

If Minidisc is distributed through the App Store, the only information visible to us is the aggregate, anonymized data Apple provides through App Store Connect, such as total downloads and the countries or regions where the App was downloaded. This data is not personally identifiable, and we do not link it to individual users.

7. No advertising, no selling of data

Minidisc contains no advertising and no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. We do not sell, rent, or share your data, because we never receive it in the first place.

8. Children

Minidisc is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date below.
